The Vienna Anonymous author was studying Fabris (and to a lesser extent, referencing Capoferro and an unknown third manual known only as LS; whatever it is, when found, it will almost assuredly be titled "Lo Schermo") while Fabris was still alive. It is unknown if the author was a direct student. The value of this manual changes depending on where you are in your study. If you have been researching Italian rapier for a long time, its value is primarily in confirming conclusions you've already come to. If you are newer to Italian rapier, this manual can save you maybe a good solid 3-5 YEARS of work because it answers a lot of questions and provides a much more granular breakdown of topics covered in Fabris that you'd otherwise have to figure out over time. If Fabris is the textbook, this is like having access to the class notes of the student you want to be partnered with for group projects. Absolutely invaluable. Vienna Anonymous, by Tom Leoni
