Greetings everyone! I'm Master Llwyd Aldrydd. I've been fencing in the SCA for 30 years and studying Fiore's 14th Century combat system for slightly over 10 years after taking my first classes at Pennsic in August of 2010. I founded a Fiore study group in Tir-y-Don that regularly teaches at University and has its own website and YouTube channel. I study Fiore both to understand his art as described and to adapt it for use on the rapier and C&T combat fields. I use some Fiore on the rapier field and much more on the C&T field, particularly with longsword. I teach classes on particular Fiore techniques, on applying Fiore to SCA combat and on how HMA is studied and used in the SCA as well as on non HMA topics. I'm also the current deputy Kingdom A&S officer for Historic Martial Arts. To me the job is to cheer lead and coordinate HMA stuff. Get people to teach and take at University, coordinate with the KASF autocrat to get demo time and space, track and report on the cool things people are doing, and act as a point of contact if people have questions or want to arrange for a teacher. I am currently slowly looking for a successor and have started to poke at a few likely candidates. I'm a Master of Defense particularly for my C&T skill and a Pearl for my HMA work. Our Fiore website is: learnfiore.orgOur YouTube channel is: www.youtube.com/channel/UCm_ZYLv4GLH4deU5NXXhUWQMy personal site is: baronllwyd.org

Hi! I am Dante di Pietro. I have been researching Italian rapier and studying historical fencing since 2005. I was the kingdom A&S deputy for Historic Combat Studies for 4 years and then held the office at a Society level for another 4 years. I am the author of On Historical Fencing with the Rapier and Dagger and founder of the Di Pietro School of Defense, which offers a certification test that can also serve as a syllabus for learners studying Italian rapier. My YouTube channel focuses on instructional methods, but also offers a list of "quick fixes" for Italian rapier. Mundanely, I am an education professional with specialization in curriculum development and instructional design. I am a Master of the Laurel for my historical rapier research and application, and a Master of Defense. This stuff works.
